Concrete Track Sawing

A process used to form openings in reinforced concrete wall and floors using hydraulically driven blades to cut through the heaviest reinforcement.

track sawing

This equipment was developed to enable cutting of door and window openings through walls and floors for stairways, lifts, etc., without the need to drill a series of interlocking holes. The track saw is mounted on a toothed aluminium rail which is secured to the concrete by rawlbolts.

The saw unit is secured to track by runners and a cog wheel engages the rail to move backwards and forwards along the track. The bogey also houses the hydraulic motor which powers the diamond saw blade from 450mm to over 2m in diameter.

The power unit is hydraulic and operated by remote control away from the surface being worked upon. The cutting is carried out by making a series of passes along the length being cut.
